About

Hero

It all begins with an idea.

Custom woodcraft for people who care how a space feels—and how it is built.

Founder story

Jake Forrer

Jake Forrer’s devotion to woodworking traces its roots to Indiana in 2007. He spent four years as a framer, then grew into finish carpentry, cabinetmaking, furniture, and custom fabrication—clients and their satisfaction have stayed central throughout.

Today he leads a custom fabrication shop in Truckee, where traditional craftsmanship and modern CNC equipment work side by side. The shop takes on select custom projects in the Truckee–Tahoe area—from concept through installation.

Values

Sustainable building solutions

We are a Northern California wood and machine shop prioritizing sustainable building solutions.

Likely examples of what that can mean in practice:

  • Responsibly sourced lumber and sheet goods, specified to each project
  • Low-VOC finishes and adhesives when the spec calls for them
  • Durable joinery and hardware choices aimed at a long service life
  • Efficient CNC nesting and thoughtful use of offcuts in the shop
  • Local and regional suppliers when they fit the schedule and material needs
  • Waste reduction and scrap sorted for reuse or recycling where practical
  • Millwork built to fit the space—sized for the site rather than overbuilding
  • Coordination with builders and designers to limit rework on site
